Guests were welcomed by Miss Costa Rica 2008, Maria Teresa Rodriguez and showed into a lounge area created by Intercasa. In the adjoining salon guests could appreciate the quality high-end appliances and materials that shall be used in the Oceano Hotel.

Among the displays, all wonderfully orchestrated by Construplaza, was a fully constructed kitcken by Dada Cucina with General Electric appliances, light fixtures by Tecno-Lite and Bticino, exclusive Italian porcelain tiles from Graniti Fiendre, beautiful granite and marble by Gallos, and high-end bathroom fixtures by American Standard and Helvex.
At the main salon guests were greeted by a life size Humpback whale gracing a magnificent 6 meter high underwater backdrop that covered the entire 18 meter wall. A striking image of the much anticipated Oceano Hotel adorned an entire wall and allowed a detailed glimpse of its marvelous architecture and unique design elements.

At the four corners of the main venue, guests could enjoy fabulous delicacies prepared by San José’s leading restaurants: Chateau 1525, La Tasca, Inka Grill and Mi Sala. A non-stop supply of delightful organic Argentinean wine was circulated through the crowd, exclusively imported by Asesor Enófilo.
The lovely Johanna Fernádez, Miss Costa Rica 2005, was a wonderful choice as the evening’s host. After acknowledging the many companies supporting the event, and giving a brief presentation of the project and the family standing behind its development, Miss Fernádez invited the developer Itai Barz to take to the stage. Mr. Barz gave an inspiring speech that was just the right length and not overly formal, describing the benefits of Oceano and the unique ocean inspired theme that is inherent throughout the project. He explained how Oceano offers a safe investment opportunity by allowing titled ownership of a 4 star hotel unit.
This unique concept guarantees a 100% risk free purchase, protecting the buyer from the possibility of any loss of funds and insuring that the unit will pay for itself even at a minimal 30% occupancy by delivering 62% of the rental income to the unit owner. The owners of an Oceano unit will be able to access the hotel’s reservation system with a special owner’s login code from anywhere around the world and see which rooms are being cleaned, used and reserved. There are no restrictions for the use of the unit on holidays and high season dates. While the unit is not being used, the Oceano team will rent it out and provide the owner with a detailed monthly report.
Mr. Barz later invited the guests to approach the members of the Oceano team circulating the crowd, ready to answer any questions that may arise as well as assist the guests that were interested in purchasing the art works, of which 10% shall be donated to MarViva for ocean and marine life conservation. Also took to the stage, Mr. Jorge Jiménez, The general director of MarViva Foundation, who congratulated the developer for the exceptional collaboration between MarViva and the Oceano Hotel that will extend beyond the event with an annual donation from the hotel’s revenues as well as a percentage of the sales from Oceano’s exclusive 2 storey art gallery.
Mr. Jiménez emphasized the importance of supporting projects that are environmentally aware as Oceano, which will implement various methods and construction materials to assure minimal environmental impact, and strive to educate its community to embrace and protect Costa Rica’s magnificent nature. Jacó and its leap towards the future

Jacó is the closest beach to the capital San José, a fact that highlights it as a sought after destination for domestic travelers and foreigners arriving at the Santa Maria international airport. The new Costanera highway, which is in final stages of construction, will reduce the driving distance to Jacó by more than an hour. This highway will connect directly from the air-port, pass through Escazu and Santa Ana and connect to Jacó in just 45 minutes. The boost in the amount of tourists and travelers arriving at the area is estimated to double, consequently raising the demand for attractive accommodation and tourist services. The town’s proximity to other popular destinations like Manual Antonio national park, Carara national park and Turtuga Island, has already heightened Jacó as a holiday center from which various activities and excursion can be explored.
Year-round waves, prime access to breathtaking jungle wildlife and adventure tours like canopy zip-lining, ATVs and sport fishing, not to mention some of the best nightlife in the country, have quickly transformed Jacó into Costa Rica’s most popular beach vacation hotspot. This booming beach town attracts surfers, retirees, families, international tourists and real estate investors from around the world.
Keeping up with the constant growth of the town, the Jacó municipality has executed various projects to upscale the town from vast infrastructure improvements to new plans for a beautiful beachfront boulevard.
Jacó has also transformed into a cultural center for the Pacific coast, holding numerous music festivals and its exclusive annual art festival showcasing paintings, sculptures and theater performances.
In August 2009 Jacó has hosted the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games, which led an unprecedented amount of tourists both local and international to fill the town and boost the local economy.

Water is the driving force of all nature

Leonardo Da Vinci once said that “human subtlety will never devise an invention more beautiful, more simple or more direct than does nature, because in her inventions nothing is lacking, and nothing is superfluous”.
Keeping this idea in mind, we sought out to observe nature’s precise shape, form and beauty, from the perfect dynamics of a sea shell to the driving force of the deep blue sea.
Da Vinci shared our conclusion: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”.
And so we aspired to capture the pure essence of the ocean, its vibrant shapes, calming allure and flowing nature; to create a building in which nothing is lacking and nothing is superfluous.
